The Words Between Your Limbs

“Charlie Brophy is a nineteen-year-old photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. Of this work, ‘Sharehouse’, he writes: ‘The inspiration in my work is predominately derived from my fascination with youth. For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with observing adolescence and the transition to adulthood. I’m intrigued by youthful innocence (and the loss of such purity)…”
Kenda North, head of the photography program at U of Texas in Arlington…I’m not too crazy about the photograph (color/tech wise) (maybe that is my occasional secret purist b&w side coming out)…but I’m more intrigued by the idea and the pattern of the table cloth & the way it is interacting with the model’s body. It is really nice.
This is the kind of thing I have been working on. Except this is way more high fashion/high qual/ AMAZING! What stunning work, what an inspiration….from Solve Sundsbo.
Another from Solve Sundsbo, and probably my favorite one.
My latest photography project (which is currently just a bunch of sketches, and ideas, waiting to be shot later this week…) involves a study of the bonds of women, of sisterhood, of friends….the power of women, the idea of unity among women, protecting each other, loving each other…I realized recently that the thing that is most important to me right now, relationship-wise…is the relationships of friendships, the family, the community of amazing people that I am currently surrounded by and have. So, anyway, doing some research today and found this photo titled ‘Two Sisters’ by (one of the loves of my life in photography) Imogen Cunningham. It really is a beautiful photograph, and I thought I would share it.
Another one of my favorite photographers, I can only aspire…. by Edward Weston
This is some really — REALLY amazing work. I’m currently mesmerized.
