The Words Between Your Limbs

My latest photography project (which is currently just a bunch of sketches, and ideas, waiting to be shot later this week…) involves a study of the bonds of women, of sisterhood, of friends….the power of women, the idea of unity among women, protecting each other, loving each other…I realized recently that the thing that is most important to me right now, relationship-wise…is the relationships of friendships, the family, the community of amazing people that I am currently surrounded by and have.  So, anyway, doing some research today and found this photo titled ‘Two Sisters’ by (one of the loves of my life in photography) Imogen Cunningham.  It really is a beautiful photograph, and I thought I would share it.

Portrait I'm quilting thoughts. I want to know, I want to see it standing there, finished at the end of it all, the most breathtaking collection of anything anyone has ever seen. I want to see it all stitched together, knowing the way each part played, the way each part looked at one time, at another time. I want to appreciate it all. I want to love. All of it.
