I’m trying to pack. I woke up to a pink plastic flamingo in my apartment one day this week…I think it came from one of my walks home. We will not speak of it. I can’t wait to wake up in a house full of all my new room mates…Sammy Sammy Jr Jr, Chris, and Canon. (Only one of those three is an actual human) (I rescued a secret kitty)…
Things I will miss about my apartment:
The way the light comes through the window to the right of my bed around 8am every morning. It is orange and makes the greatest designs and shapes on my wall and covers……
My absolutely hilarious bunch of neighbors. Lee, who is 60, and once had one too many beers and said “Kid, if you breathe in any harder you are going to catch on fire!” Darrell, who ends every story with someone shooting off a gun (thank goodness he is still alive and no longer living in Oklahoma)…Chloe, who seriously has a wine glass taped to her hand and is always asking someone for a cigarette….Raymond, who only comes out of his apartment to share the copious amounts of egg rolls he cooks because he is too busy watching football otherwise (and other forms of american television) …and Victor, who studied bugs his entire college career and refuses to do anything with out listening to music of some exotic or ridiculous form. He also loves to tell stories about how because he looks spanish, everyone tries to say “I learned spanish in high school!” and form incredibly broken and pitiful sentences in spanish…to which he simply responds…”What?”
I will miss the courtyard where we spent many nights sitting out side talking about nothing. I will miss the way it sounds when it rains because I am the end apartment and can hear everything. I will miss many things about this apartment, but I am excited for the new adventure that awaits in the new house that is periwinkle. With every room painted a different color. With hardwood floors and huge windows. With a laundry room, and a dishwasher (thank god). I’ll post some pictures after we get moved in, yah? I have to stop talking and thinking about my old apartment now. It is making me sad. Se La Vi. Enjoy your Halllloweenish festivities this weekend. Everyone stay safe. <3
